CARVED IN STONE

There is a story going round on the Internet about two friends who were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, he bent down and wrote in the sand: TODAY MY FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE. They kept on walking until they found an abandoned oasis. However, there was a little pool so they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and began to drown, but the friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE. The friend who had slapped and then later saved his best friend asked him, “After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone. Why the difference?” The friend replied’ “When someone hurts us we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”

These days, planning is a familiar word. When a child is born, its parents start planning its future. Nevertheless, as time travels to its endless destination, many surprises unfold.

There were two children in a family. Their future was planned but there were surprises. One of the children became a saint and the order a criminal. What a paradox!
I had a relative who was known by the beautiful name, noble man. He was rich. At the age of 40, he was afflicted with cancer. There are innumerable such instances.

On the contrary, people who trouble others disturb the peace and happiness of others are seen to be happy and prosperous.

Is it destiny or fate?
We are the architects of our own destiny. We are the builders of our future. It is said that man proposes and God disposes. However, we have to understand that man proposes and man disposes.

Again, a question arises as to why a good person should suffer. It is possible that he is good person now but we do not know his past actions. Past misdeeds are not absolved.

Thought for reflection: There should be cause and effect. Therefore, if we are always able to think positively, under all circumstances, we have prepared ourselves for performing good deeds.

My Study Habits

Everyone has a study habit. The paragraph is about my study habits. I like to study in the library. This is because the library is a quiet and suitable place to study. Nevertheless, I cannot study very long in a library because I will feel lonely and bored. I usually study at night. It is because I feel relax and more confident to understand my study. Next, I prefer to study alone and sometimes I have to join a study group. Actually, I enjoy studying alone but I only join study groups when I have to discuss about assignment and difficult subjects. I always make notes because it helps me to understand.

Besides, I study 7- 10 hours in a week. I have not specific time for study because I like to study last minute when I have exam. I also make a study- plan every week. I do it because I want to organize my schedule and my study systematically. Finally, I feel so enjoy with my study habits.
